Abstract:Spoofing can seriously threaten the use of the Global Positioning System (GPS) in critical applications such as positioning and navigation of autonomous vehicles. Research into spoofing generation will contribute to assessment of the threat of possible spoofing attacks and help in the development of anti-spoofing methods. However, the recent commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) spoofing generators are expensive and the technology implementation is complicated. To address the above problem and promote the GPS safety-critical applications, a spoofing generator using a vector tracking-based software-defined receiver is proposed in this contribution. The spoofing generator aims to modify the raw signals by cancelling the actual signal component and adding the spoofing signal component. The connections between the spreading code and carrier, and the states of the victim receiver are established through vector tracking. The actual signal can be predicted effectively, and the spoofing signal will be generated with the spoofing trajectory at the same time. The experimental test results show that the spoofing attack signal can effectively mislead the victim receiver to the designed trajectory. Neither the tracking channels nor the positioning observations have abnormal changes during this processing period. The recent anti-spoofing methods cannot detect this internal spoofing easily. The proposed spoofing generator can cover all open-sky satellites with a high quality of concealment. With the superiority of programmability and diversity, it is believed that the proposed method based on an open source software-defined receiver has a great value for anti-spoofing research of different GNSS signals.Keywords: spoofing generator; GPS; vector tracking; autonomous vehicles


Alpha particle emitting isotopes are of considerable interest for radionuclide therapy because of their high cytotoxicity and short path length. Among the many α emitters, 223 Ra exhibits very attractive nuclear properties for application in radionuclide therapy. The decay of this radioisotope and its daughters is accompanied by the emission of four α-particles, releasing 27.9MeV of cumulative energy. Unfortunately the lack of an appropriate bifunctional ligand for radium has so far been a main obstacle for the application of 223 Ra in receptor targeted therapy. In our studies we investigated the use of nanozeolite-Substance P bioconjugates as vehicles for 223 Ra radionuclides for targeted α therapy. The sodium form of an A-type of nanozeolite (NaA) was synthesized using the template method. Next, the nanozeolite particles were conjugated to the Substance P (5-11) peptide fragment, which targets NK-1 receptors on glioma cells. The obtained bioconjugate was characterized by transmission emission spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis and dynamic light scattering analysis. The NaA-silane-PEG-SP(5-11) bioconjugates were labeled with 223 Ra by exchange of the Na + cation and the stability, receptor affinity and cytotoxicity of the obtained radiobioconjugates were tested. The 223 Ra-labeled nanozeolite bioconjugate almost quantitatively retains 223 Ra in vitro after 6days, while the retention of decay products varies from 90 to 95%. The synthesized 223 RaA-silane-PEG-SP(5-11) showed high receptor affinity toward NK-1 receptor expressing glioma cells and exhibited a high cytotoxic effect in vitro. Substance P functionalized nanozeolite-A represents a viable solution for the use of the 223 Ra in vivo generator as a therapeutic construct for targeting glioma cells. Copyright 2016 Elsevier Inc. Radium needles that were once implanted into tumours as a cancer treatment are now obsolete and constitute a radioactive waste problem, as their half-life is 1600 years. We are investigating the reduction of radium by transmutation by bombarding Ra-226 with high-energy neutrons from a neutron source to produce Ra-225 and hence Ac-225, which can be used as a generator to produce Bi-213 for use in 'Targeted Alpha Therapy' for cancer. This paper examines the possibility of producing Ac-225 by neutron capture using a theoretical model in which neutron energy is convoluted with the corresponding neutron cross sections of Ra-226. The total integrated yield can then be obtained. This study shows that an intense beam of high-energy neutrons could initiate neutron capture on Ra-226 to produce Ra-225 and hence practical amounts of Ac-225 and a useful reduction of Ra-226. We are investigating the reduction of radium by transmutation on a small scale by bombarding Ra-226 with high-energy photons from a medical linear accelerator (linac) to produce Ra-225, which subsequently decays to Ac-225, which can be used as a generator to produce Bi-213 for use in 'targeted alpha therapy' for cancer. This paper examines the possibility of producing Ac-225 with a linac using an accurate theoretical model in which the bremsstrahlung photon spectrum at 18 MV linac electron energy is convoluted with the corresponding photonuclear cross sections of Ra-226. The total integrated yield can then be obtained and is compared with a computer simulation. This study shows that at 18 MV, the photonuclear reaction on Ra-226 can produce low activities of Ac-225 with a linac. However, a high power linac with high current, pulse length and frequency is needed to produce practical amounts of Ac-225 and a useful reduction of Ra-226.
